AP Calculus AB

Welcome to AP Calculus AB. This Advanced Placement class is an exciting introduction to some of the wonders of mathematics. As this school uses block scheduling, we will cover many topics each day. This document will guide the students and parents/guardians to our class's rules, expectations, and procedures. Please make sure this document and its contents are fully understood.

AP Calculus AB is designed to be the equivalent of a first-semester college calculus course devoted to differential and integral calculus topics. AB focuses on students’ understanding of calculus concepts and provides experience with methods and applications. Using big ideas of calculus (e.g., modeling change, approximation and limits, and analysis of functions) this course becomes a cohesive whole, rather than a collection of unrelated topics. This course requires students to use definitions and theorems to build arguments and justify conclusions.
