AP Calculus AB
Course Description
AP Calculus AB is an Advanced Placement class. This class focuses on the first semester of a college level Calculus class. Our major goal of the class is to be able to find the volume of a graph when it is revolved around either the x or y axis! Sounds easy right? This class is a journey, and hopefully you will be successful.
Semester 1: Limits and Derivatives
Chapter 1 - Review of Math Analysis
Chapter 2 - Limits
Chapter 3 - Derivatives
Chapter 4 - Logarithms, Exponentials, and Related Rates
Chapter 5 - Increasing, Decreasing, Concavity, Curves Sketching, Extrema, Applications
Semester 2 - Intergration, Area and Volume
Chapter 6 - Antiderivative and Area
Chapter 7 - Area between two curves, Volume
Bonus Chapter - Differential Equations and Slope Fields
Then we review for the Big AP Test!
AP Review
Spring Break Extra Credit - You are to attempt all of the questions for 1996 and 1997. Then in a different color pen, grade with the given rubric. Your are to give me the total on the top of each year with your total out of a possible 54 points. You will not get credit if you don't attempt each and every question. This is due the Tuesday we get back from break!
