we have homecoming the parade which we are actively working around right now in terms of rain so we are keeping our fingers crossed that it stays away Dominus but the weather reports do seem to suggest that we will be quite all right but you never know that can change on a dime so we've got a lot of pots in the fire right now we've got our homecoming game tonight and we have several staff members out so we've been scrambling to get coverage I'm not sure most of you know what that's like but we have a dramatic shortage in the state of California in a lot of different professional areas and one of them is substitute teachers as so we are pretty much everyday put in the position of trying to figure out how to cover our classes because we cannot find enough people who want to do that work today was no different so we did find coverage the staff has definitely picked up the ball and run with it are they out we made things easier I'm also trying to manage some people texting me trying to get into the meeting so we're working on that to her all busy we're going to go through some good stuff here in a moment I am still waiting for a few of our presenters to arrive as well so I've course will do the best I can to give you their messages while they're unable to get on or are having trouble it looks like but that's what we do we troubleshoot we solved problems so here we go we'll start with just a pitch for a John Deere in our schools Foundation here I wasn't able to get ahold of mr. Koch who is our liaison here at the high school but we are still definitely pushing for our other donations to the foundation that done a fantastic job of supporting us that got us through a really difficult time as everybody knows last year and that's really why we were able to maintain most of our staff I was because of your generous donations through the foundation which allows us to be able to bring those staff back even before the parcel tax passed that was critical otherwise we would have lost a lot of Staff members that we had invested a lot of time and energy into because they would have been forced to take other jobs so we're really really pleased to have them as a partner with us and we are excited or what they're going to be able to bring for us next year and know that we have been slightly short in terms of what we've been able to raise in terms of money or next so if you can give to the foundation encourage you to do so with them we are able to staff are high school fully they don't they help us maintain a lot of the positions here a position that have to do with drama are Athletics Department's there's many many ways in which they help us far beyond just the classroom as well so again if you're able to we really want to encourage you to participate in the school foundation in to provide a donation if you can and I know what their ask is I'm I'm not sure what it is anymore but I know that any amount is extremely helpful when we planning for next year especially I'm trying to help my TT apts a board president get online because she would be next to speak with us there is Allah going on with the pgsa I do see Miss Modine so what we might do is just do a little rearrangement of our schedule here and Lori I will get you to be able to unmute here in a moment all I got to do is find you are you are you are all right so Lori go ahead and unmute and why don't you take a serious a quick conversation around a grad night because I know that is your area Focus so let's go he says I am one pictures of grad night this year and are we are super excited about it our scheme is the amazing Marvel Universe which has so many opportunities and the seniors are very excited about it I wanted to reduce the other chairs to you and I don't know I see Linda Linda Gutierrez who also has a junior I miss our creative chair and Lynn Erickson is our finance chair Shreya boy Julie Phung are also assistance to grad night and with the five of us it were we make a great team and we have been working super hard so as our we're really excited about our design concept and we are putting them into place and the drawings for a facade and Jim renderings are being worked on and the world of Marvel will come alive and all of its five senses this coming may as we 67th grad night we can't do it without our parents and our community who all come together to design construct and hoes and Unforgettable all night experience and one which your Juniors next year let's enjoy so as Junior parents we would love your help we have opportunities to be on our grad night committee be a painting volunteer which would be Wednesdays or Saturdays and won't start in next year bring food for volunteers for a Saturday's donate Marvel memorabilia and costumes which would be returned I'm still needing other materials like lights would Forge Azhar what have you be a corporate sponsor or donate prices for the event itself for our seniors but we're also doing something really special this year so we have three flocking co-chairs David Wang Grace never at say and Angela C and we are giving the community an opportunity to be flocked starting now for special occasions like for birthday special events Milestones or accomplishments do pink flamingos with a special sign will appear on your front yard for a couple of days and we ask for a small donation which helps with the funds for grad night so I'm going to put my email in the chat so if you'd like to reach out to me I can put you in touch with one of our f****** coach Harris for that special locking but instead of passing around a sign-up sheet like we would normally do if we were in person I'm going to put a link in the update on our Titan Golf Classic coming up I would love to thank you Jason good morning everyone so the Titan Golf Classic will be in April of next year we are all going to take a trip to tighten land working plan as we will have different holes representing different parts that make San Marino High School so probably in January you will start to get a lot of communication from Debbie Krebs and I looking for volunteers to help us put this wonderful event on it is one of the major fundraising events for the school so we would love to get as many golfers out as possible however if you are notable for which Debbie and I do not goes but we are more than happy to be your enthusiastic chairs please make sure you understand that you do not have to be a golfer to take part in the bb10 are available for those of you just want to come and support and I just think it's going to be a really fun event last year under covid that was a great afternoon of golf and I'm hoping that we can do the same thing this year so we invite you all to save the date we do have the date this light is 418 that may change depending on San Gabriel Country Club so we will keep you advised but you will hear more from us after we get through the parent party and just look forward to having everybody be a part of it thanks thanks Melissa yeah it was a lot of fun last year I tried to keep up with the mister cats and Clay who has quite a solid golf game so that was embarrassing but and he practices in the hallway at the end of the day me too so he's got a little advantage on me right now I see Jennifer shuang is here and I do not have any parent party reps so I'm wondering if maybe you can give us some update there and then any other up on the PTSA you'd like absolutely thank you Jason and good morning everybody. My name is Jennifer and I'm your pksa president this year I just want to thank everybody just for all of the wonderful support that we saw on the first date all the great things that all of our volunteers have been doing across the campus since school started I will speak on behalf of the parent party chairs and couldn't be here today so kind of the major thing that's going on for us right now is that we're hearing how far are any parent party so we haven't been able to have is a bed for a couple years because it covid so I hope to see everybody come out in the fabulous at the outdoor venue it's a Cena theme so we hope everyone will join us for Viva Las Vegas there's a new date so make sure the knots on your calendars it's going to be on Saturday November 6th as I'm done a single handle off home so we're just really really grateful for the generosity of his family to open up their how much looking forward to being there and give me lots of fun tickets online check the Monday find bulletin for information on how to sign up I know that bass and I'm Jose and cherry or still looking for volunteers to round out their committee I'm if you have something we'd like to donate for our silent and live auction if you want to participate in six bids their contact information in the chat so that you can reach out to them and let them know I'm how you like to support the parent party but you know you can't be on the committee and can donation just come it's going to be so much fun it'll be a great opportunity for all of us to get together and so I look forward to seeing you all there I'm the next event or I guess it's before the parent party is our next association meeting so I'm on 3rd day October 21st at 9 a.m. will be having our October meeting via Zoom so hopefully that will allow a lot of people to attend General business will be voting on motions or hear about all the great things are going on I'm partying like red night in the golf tournament then just add the wonderful way to participate and I'm here update Jason always speaks tells us what's going on with the school we hear about Papa and an athletic update so I'm you know what it is it's a great time and a great way to stay in touch with what's going on at school homecoming so I'm really excited for the game tonight and for the parade is at after school I want to see you all there again it's a real privilege to be working with this great Administration the teachers actually stopped everyone's working really hard just before kids if you want to be a part of the parent core that decide to support the school let me know there's lots of ways to get plugged in and be involved so I'm thank you Jason for everything that you do for us and the faculty and staff if you have any questions at all about the GTA I'm on my way to eating eyeballs I'm going to put my email in the chat and I love to hear from you I take feedback and questions too so you don't have to email me just to say that you want to do stuff okay I'll go to Chinese and we'll see you at the pantry thanks so much Jennifer all right let's go to our Wellness Center and I have to ask cuz I have the call here for Miss al-hindi to go ahead and unmute there she is all right I thank you Tanya I feel free to give us an update and we're always trying to increase our students ability to access the thank you so much for putting the yeah I'm Tanya handy and I'm the wellness counselor and updated a few things it's been really busy we have had a lot of students coming in which is wonderful we've also kind of a remodel the wellness enter and make some changes to make some distinct small areas for different groups of students to come in at one time so we always want to encourage you I would love to connect to parents please reach out if you have any concerns I'm about your student or even if I just want some information about how to help them manage stress we entered is really difficult. So we know that junior year is very very taxing students have a lot of strong horses so feel free to reach out and speak with myself one of our our clinical entrance to discuss some different ways that you can help your student kind of prioritize and manage some of that stress so I invite you to reach out on the website of some different parents and that's coming up and also really excited for out of the darkness walk which is going to be November 6th over and Raymond's park with American Foundation For Suicide Prevention so it's a great opportunity for students to need some community service hours they want to start collect deals on a Saturday so please reach out or follow up on our website for any additional information and I look forward to connecting with you thank you Tanya would really appreciate that they've been doing remarkable work and boy Wing could not have been luckier to have found Tanya two years ago and to have all of our interns of we are seeing an incredible amount of stew I need some support need just a moment even to talk with somebody we are what our staff is calling already in April and in what that really means is we are feeling really overwhelmed I'm really tired and as though we've done a full year already and we've only been in school about 2 months but that makes sense because we haven't had to do something like this for nearly two years so we all got physically mentally and emotionally complacent and now we're being tossed back out into the world and we're going through sort of those I don't I don't know if it's withdrawals but it's just we get tired we get frustrated a little easier so we all need a little help and support and I know that's one of the themes with the with Jennifer and the PTSA is Grace and it's a big theme Here for us as well so I think about that when you're talking to your own children and I know as you are Junior Aaron's you are uniquely qualified to understand the grace that is needed but also the stress that your kids are under when they probably taken a large course load are they probably want to be in all their activities what eggs and they're feeling a little bit overwhelmed because then they also have to manage their social life and that is something that even as adults we screw up regularly kids have little to no experience so I just remember to in all your interactions in in this is with everybody and anybody entering into it with love and understanding if you're seeking to understand it's going to be a lot better conversation then if you are seeking to tell somebody what they ought to be feeling or how they should be reacting and that's a hard thing to do I'm bad at it as many times as I'm good at it so let's move forward dumb to the real reason we are here and that is to hear from its not me I know I'm at the top of that list but really it's our counseling team and it's mr. Casey to have been already working a lot on their junior meetings which will be coming up soon as they're rounding up their senior meetings I'm and I think it's really really critical that you don't just hear this but that you that you don't just listen but that you hear there are a lot of times that our counselors are speaking with university colleges and getting feedback and we try to provide that to our our parents as much as possible but it's important that we really hear what's being said I think about it this way we have a unique relationship when we are looking at our colleges and universities we can actually go to them and say hey how come this kid didn't get in and they can give us the kind of feedback that allows us to to tell you listen here's some things that you should really be focusing on here's some things that are far more important to colleges and universities and weenie and with all that said a lot of those things tend to change on a dime right they they shift and and what a college wanted last year is not necessarily what they're looking for this so please pay very close attention can you please put any questions you have in the chat I'm I'm going to be monitoring that for a mr. Casey and the counseling team but enough from me let's hand it over to them and a counseling team I'm a clicking to help you unmute right now so don't worry about that. We got a thank you Jason a little breakfast and then Department had the counseling department is also on the melasa adding a few things here too but our counseling team is actually broken up into four kind of many committees or many teams are a part of a College and Career Team they're the ones who are spearheading and bleeding a lot of the workshops and in activities that you see on this slide here we also have curriculum committee on that Miss Smith and Miss Laura's are part of we have Wellness support which Miss Moon and mr. Custer apart of special projects that Miss Smith and Miss noon are apart of so they're the ones who are taking the lead on this year I made you your things we're working on this year and as we get to know students as as we return to school and we could actually see students uniform through formal meetings and informal meetings is is really bringing student voice and we see that as as an area where we can definitely improve and that that means the student is taking the initiative on the students taking initiative during during his sisters and we're there for them and we're supporting them and we're giving them you know the technical know-how but the student is is meeting with the counselor is filling out that counseling request form which were what we communicate in a week and those those emails from Jason and using this year to really get there and get to know their counselor and to get to know themselves that's that's a big goal that we're working on with students and ultimately. the lot of dividends because that creates in a better personal statement you know student who knows what they want to do who knows themselves and then ultimately can can lead to that student finding the right fit or college or career that they want to be a part of so we have a lot of Junior events this is much much more than what we had done in previous years because our capability is just that much greater since we're all here on campus but really the junior kind of college preparation begins now and what we're doing is so next Tuesday we're going to have a resume writing Workshop our seniors but we're going to be opening up to our Juniors so some of our or workshops towards the end here we're going to be opening up towards our Juniors and you'll see that on communication the weekly emails that are coming out over the course of the coming month or two months before I went to break so we're really going to start now but also that involves looking at classes for next year so and then in a couple in a month or so we're going to have a showcase as well as an AP honors bear I mean at those events were based out of going to be showcasing on our courses for the following year and making sure that students are aware of what those expectations are for those courses so a big goal of ours is to make sure that that students are aware that they can you do access the courses that they want to take and that's huge for us this year we have more students registered in AP exams and we've ever blocked so I've only been here for a year clean more than last year ever probably end up giving over 1,100 AP exams this year which is massive for a student body of around 870 student so... So that's quite impressive so our students are taking on a lot and they're taking on a lot. senior year it's if large that's by Design we wanted to give our students choice we did 700 schedule changes in the beginning of this year most girls wouldn't let that happen but supposed to say Hey you know you got to wait a few days check with your class and and then you see how it goes but we weren't really wanted our students to be in the driver's seat and that comes with trade-offs but the most important thing is educating our students on the course load for next year and so that that's key and so that figures in Big Time into of course the college process as well so I just want to preface. That's one thing that's not on here but the selection of course it starts early in the spring we have neighbors Shoppe. It's a big concern that she was also Naviance you want students to use the super match to the career assessment tool re-engagement Naviance if they have it before because that's really the base the college applications in really finding the best fit for students and where they want to go I'm actually going to turn over the next couple to miss Flores and letter writing recommendations on down to college play chips cuz she's really in it right now and we have lots of big plans for our junior is to prepare them even more as we transition into the spring and of course into their senior Year miss Flores you want to take it over there my letter recommendation actually had a really kind of unique opportunity to have some of our seniors in the College and Career Center to actually talk to teachers about the color the letter red letter of recommendation what do they prefer how what do they talk about what do they need to know so we're actually going to move that into spring and and duplicate that in the springtime for a Junior's so they get to ask these teachers you know what their preferences and it's not good you know all the teachers of course but it's going to be some of the teachers that they you know to get that information from so it was a really fun Workshop teachers are great I think it was a full house in the College and Career Center mr. Casey definitely vouch for that one but at least I can get all the details about the letter writing process and to kind of get feedback from us as councillors to we're not necessarily in the same realm as a teacher what they would write specifically what do counselors right and what are we looking for so I definitely encourage your students as Juniors to start reaching out to us and start that Initiative for us to get to know them to the course we're going to be connecting with them going in the College and Career they can meet with us at any time filling out the counselor request form and then we'll start you know having little meetings here in there regardless regarding like their goals so it's definitely beneficial because that's how we get to know students during this process okay the next one is just kind of sat act updates those are obviously changing constantly every single year some schools are wanting to you know bring them back some of them some school. they totally taking it out of their decision-making so we definitely think that is beneficial for all Junior snow college essay tips another big one as well I think when students start writing their essays how do they even begin what do they say start with how do they brainstorm what are they actually asking for I think so many times students asked like do I just list all my activities and all my Awards and that's not necessarily what they're asking for so we're going to kind of dive deep into what is the key information that they need to know about the students but also to the junior mock interviews at something Mister Casey does work on as well as the senior ones too so just prepping students and Jenner their school asked for or if they were require a interview for their selective schools it's just prepping them getting them ready for you know, shaking off the Jitters of the whole process though getting them prepped and ready and then the junior counseling mean obviously is what he had talked about already but Juniors at you know we sit through talk about Naviance what should you be doing in Naviance as well as the workshops but also just planning for senior you know most rules do kind of see the last transcript with the junior grade start the junior spring rates involved and then Senior Year some of the schools really do ask for those mid-year report so there seems senior year fall great bring that decision time as well so it's a super important that your students a dedicated and motivated in their classroom junior year is very stressful for many many many students I I talked to them constantly and even seniors in my senior meeting all of us know the amount of pressure Junior Juniors do have their taking a lot more courses are taken a lot more rigorous courses the GPA really does start kicking in and and battery when it's decision time so just normalizing that stress and just being there and we're here to support being there for them at home as well but we just kind of want to make sure they are feeling supported through this whole process I know a lot of our seniors this year definitely had a different time being just threw distance learning but at least they they know that they kind of made it through you know that little hump but just trying to get you and also to add today one thing that we're doing I'm a lot more it got it in conjunction with our wallets and some support committee here at school is also using the homeroom time that's during our 4th. To include a lot of our College and Career activities as well so what we're planning in the spring to have that that further Outreach and that's great too because that communicates with teachers what's going on so the teachers are aware of what's going on so we are planning to do some activities specifically specifically targeted Junior's starting early next semester so that would be everything from College and Career oriented to schedule and courses for the following year and of course Naviance this is going to be key and making sure everyone is is is doing the tasks are required during junior year for that and then of course the the junior counseling meetings that will begin in January February that the Juniors do go first and how to make sure everyone that is at is as informed as possible when you do go first though there is four or five six months in between the engine and when courses starting the ball so you know you understand that there's changes and you know what encourages you know frequent communication with the counselor into definitely use that. Counseling request form we look at that weekly and we'll take a look at I'll look at it pretty frequently and if there's sessions. The students have you know I look at with the students are asking and what their the topics are and so we discuss those as the counseling staff I'm so we can see overall Trends you know as well as just responding to students in a timely manner of course that's really key and I just really want to touch on what Miss Laura said earlier earlier about normalizing stress during that junior year it's to be expected I know it's definitely going to happen it is the most difficult year because it's an extra level of stress in this year in particular I can prove through the data that our kids are taking significantly harder courses and last year significantly they specially this particular Junior course the loads are heavy and we have conversations with the students about that before absolutely we had many conversations 700 conversations in fact and more now that occurred over email and so on so far but it's it's it's really it's really key to not work through that so we've kind of made our bed and then and now and now we need to support students through that and so we're very aware of that but we have two steps here supporting students through a difficult year and then of course looking ahead into next year as well you know fortunately while we're in really good hands with this the Fantastic counseling staff Miss Flores mr. Casa do you have anything else to add before we leave take a look at some questions I would like further seamless transition back to in-person learning and they've done a wonderful job reaching out to the counselors the career and College Center to learn more and ask questions and get help and assistance from all of the counselor so kudos to the students absolutely come and getting to know all of them and also have the privilege of providing our lessons wellness and social emotional Wellness lessons to the students we just completed the suicide prevention and awareness lessons so we're looking for it and they did a wonderful job and it was so exciting get in the classrooms to work with the students and we're looking forward to the next topic which is bullying awareness and anti-bullying and kindness activities so those are the presentations that we will be presenting next in awesome thank you for mentioning that so we're going into classrooms quite a bit this year and we find it quite fun to get in there and then also it's a good connection with teachers as well a couple of questions that have come up and then I will open it up for some people who have their hands up one is how do parents I believe access Naviance or can access Naviance that was horse so they can actually I believe students on there and can invite the parents but technically it should be student-driven all of this stuff the student needs to be logging into their Naviance it's under our student tab on our main School website under the student tab they can see Naviance family connection and they click that button and then they not they login through clever and clever and then they put in their student IDs and stuff and then go ahead and log on but it's actually be parents it should be the students that are reporting all this information because they have a brag sheet piece that we'll talk all about that in the springtime of what they should be doing and should be prepared for any Force coming up for senior year so day at least you can work with your student on it and just kind of navigate it and play around at least with the website but it actually should be coming from the student the student should be filling it out we really encourage that he's because I'm going to be talking to the student when it comes to see meetings and the college talk so that's usually only with the senior involved in the process also helps our students understand more about who they are one of the strongest things then you know your datametrics GPA test scores is that personal statement that that letter of introduction that says who I am or who I think I am who I want to be and it's really important that they are working through Naviance as well as all of these other opportunities to develop that understanding of themself because we're finding that as as colleges and universities give us feedback at work a child stand up let's be be quite Frank high schools have IEPs and honors courses all of them do you can take a lot of them you can get a really big GPA and there's a lot of kids with really big GPS what's going to distinguish you who you are as a person what is the interesting thing that you have done want to do how do you think you've been able to become the person you are where do you want to go having some insight into that the deeper the inside the more real that you come across that is what colleges and universities gravitate towards people who can show a distinct passion not just for things they want to do but for who they are and who they want to be the question is the are the requirements for courses updated on the website currently I'll take that one so they're all the courses that are currently I was actually just got back about two things one I'm one is a I definitely want to highlight two things on our website is college guidance as well as scheduling is it right now it says scheduling 2122 but soon that'll say scheduling 2223 respond to that question yes that will be up there soon and what we're doing right now is we're putting together our curriculum and offerings for the following school year and we'll be updating our pocket those going to be coming out much earlier than the previous school year last they're going to expect those to come out. We're planning to get those out to families in early November so we're we're we're getting those together and are looking at all the changes and updates and get me those two families the second thing is a college guidance counseling section we're kind of putting together while we are putting together a portfolio of all of the different workshops that were doing and includes a whole bunch of videos and many of them are short some of the workshops are bringing in a lot of presenters information. Recording our sessions in the College and Career Center so I would highlight those we put on the slides as well as Workshop video you can skip to the places that are most relevant for you we're trying to push that a lot with students right now our seniors are are using them of course our seniors are going in person before our Juniors those videos are there so as we do workshops we're going to be cataloging those on the website for everyone to access all right I'm going to ask Miss Dodds to unmute you have your hand up feel free to speak thank you for the Verizon guy so I took we're coming for a thank you mr. K C and the staff and the council is full of the support you know you can trust you think it's invaluable ever talking to PSAT exam next week I know that the end of the quarter just wondering if the teacher going to give a little bit of leeway to the students to do some studying get to bed early with regards to the homework load that's one and then the second question I'm not from this country so this volunteer hours pay my son's been doing these hours I've been keeping them uploaded them anywhere they just want to make sure that you know maybe over Thanksgiving we can just sit down and upload them and what he's done and 9th and 10th grade doesn't you know full of the Wayside and then of course just wanted some guidance from that and of course that's a hustle question but Lenny Kravitz are familiar with that process of figured I'd ask that question but you can buy offline. That's what we're getting back into any of these require we are we are working on the hours right now but for juniors right now we actually switched up the form this year and it made it I think quite a bit easier it's now we at me now submit all the community service hours through a Google form students can see the requirements and it walks you through it on the form to submit those hours for both approved and so organizations that are on the list and organizations that aren't on the list it doesn't matter go ahead and put it in there we'll take a look at it in community in the what community or mosquito so the counselor will communicate with the student they have any questions so students can come in we have QR codes in the office in the counseling office right here and they can scan that form anytime you can also find it on our website leave it under the student section on the website and it should be students and I believe it's under his orders can you help me on that we got on 287 all just a student's community service take you directly to the form with regards to the PSAT yeah but we've definitely and we want students to focus on that exam and you not try their best and we're going to make it as early as possible I'm going to be sending out of commission communication today I know we do have a lot of Juniors who are taking that exam about a hundred and thirty or so so you'll get a detailed communication from me today about what to do in the morning we want to make that process as smooth as possible in the morning for the students so that way they can be relaxed and then you do try their best on on that exam with regards to the grades and we've been communicating with teachers about you know what's going on with this day for quite some time. I think teachers are really willing to work with students but this is this is something that we work into our schedule and and and we'll of course reiterate that as well requirements were 40 we are I asked him to board on Tuesday if we can have those reduced 225 for our Juniors and seniors because they lost roughly a year-and-a-half of opportunity to earn those hours and that's something that we pretty sure he's going to to pass so the goal for our Juniors and our seniors will likely be 25 hours instead of 40 and then our sophomores will go to it was 35 hours and looking at my counselors if they remember what I said cuz sometimes I don't and then 40 hours for a freshman since they've been able to begin all right I have another question coming in live I believe and it's Miss Gutierrez because your hand is up and it says iPhone and I think that's who this was earlier so let's say doing an excellent job the transparency is so great and just want to say that and the regarding the hours of community service so I emailed us back when my kids for 9th graders and 110th grader to mute you but then she left and then then to Laura eyes but then she left but now you have another way of doing it so do I have to go and do it that with me or can I just send those email the original email and forward it to my current counselor you can go ahead and you can for those emails to your current counselor but we prefer that everything go through the form so if there's if there's like past hours and you're talking about hours that were that were completed previously. That weren't the 30 40 hours because they're in ncl2 so that so yeah so I'm just going to actually miss wish that. Just go ahead and use the form warm is the best way to do it and that's fine if you're talking about hours that were already completed go ahead and use the form and we'll get them assigned registrar has fantastic log of them and keep track of them and also provides us with a form of all the updated students with their hours just to let you know thank you Linda like your name thanks alright I'm just an announcement Miss Olivero thank you San Marino schools Foundation is doing a mixer this coming Wednesday does need students to help watch their kids or the younger kids so I you can get 2.5 hours of community service there on Wednesday so always consider that we have no other questions right now in the chat I'm not sure if our staff want to make sure that we have any other information out there it's fine that this is a shorter one we are going to begin our Junior meeting when Carlos Adobe starting in late January or early February they are going to be a little bit longer this year that the period in which we see them cuz we're expanding we're adding a few things into that meeting so it's going to go some meetings for longer than forever a little bit longer to meet with the students so just a heads up on that cuz we are adjusting the agenda for the things that we're going to discuss with students at that meeting to understand that we we do have these conversations things with students because we do want to help them again learn about who they are or what they're interested in give them voice and choice because they're going to be stepping into that that big world environment and deciding which college courses they're going to take their professors are only going to interact with them course we're going to give you all the same information and we're encouraging you to have those conversations at home with your kids and talk to them about what they're actually interested in taking what I've seen in just a couple of years is a sort of arms race give me all the honors and all the AP that I can possibly take cuz it will boost my GPA that's an interesting way of looking another way though is if you are somebody who is very interested in math and science than try to take those high level courses in math and science if you are somebody like me who has a bigger interest in in Humanities history things of that nature that's where I should be trying to take my high-level Corpus cuz when I go to my college or university and I say hey I want to get into whatever College you have here they're going to go well you said you want to major in political science why did you take you know AP calc like why did you do that that doesn't make a lot of sense to us and you didn't you didn't get into AP US or you didn't take speech and debate those are the types of things that colleges and universities really do look for they look for that kid who is well-rounded which you will definitely get a well-rounded Child by just going to our high school and taking all of our traditional courses but then they call pointy and pointy is what are you aiming at what is where your interests lie you know some kids don't know that and that's fine but definitely don't get caught up in the idea that you have to just grab every single honors in every AP you possibly can because that is something that colleges and universities are not looking for you to take all of them they're looking for you to take the ones that are most interesting at one more thing we also added a student which has quite a few students but families that have students who are taking AP courses this year are payment. Is going to be starting next Monday that's going to be from October 11th through November 5th and so that's going to be coming out today explaining the process the website I will be using totalregistration again and just watch out for that we do pay me to pay for the exams early are the College Board requires us to fill out our order in early November they made that day I changed in that rule I guess three or four years ago now because they found that when students come into the test early on they do significantly better so that's going to be coming out today and you'll get more detailed information on Monday as well all right with no other questions coming across I see no other hands up we are going to say thank you all for attending today we hope to see you all on Huntington Drives median at right around 2:45 when we are pulling out with our various Vehicles pray for no rain keep your fingers crossed do your anti rain dance whatever you got because we really want to bring this back it's going to be a lot of fun to see our kids walking up and down Huntington Drive throwing candy seeing all the little kids from Ballantyne and Carver and Huntington out in the medians of celebrating and getting ready for a great game tonight against Temple City which we all hope you will attend again thank you everyone remember we are all available here we have the most outstanding staff of counselors and the the greatest group of teachers who really are working hard to make sure that not only are your kids learning everything they need to but doing it in a way that I keep them calm and comfortable have a great rest of your day no rain and we will see you at the homecoming parade bye-bye everybody
