Welcome To Media Arts!

Welcome to the world of media arts! I am thrilled to be back at San Marino High School after a decade away. You may know me as Mr. Basulto, or Mr. B. During my absence, I invented a groundbreaking product called the iographer – a filmmaking case for iPhones and iPads. It gained recognition from the New York Times as a game-changer in the industry, transforming your device into a filmmaking powerhouse. Now that I've built a multi-million dollar company, I'm eager to share my passion for mobile filmmaking with all of you.

In my classes, you'll discover the incredible potential of these pocket-sized devices to create professional-quality videos. We'll start by teaching you how to tell captivating stories, capture those stories, and edit like a pro.

For my advanced classes, my exceptional students are even creating their own YouTube channels. They'll learn the art of producing weekly content, driving traffic, and eventually monetizing their channels. The ability to create engaging stories will stay with you for life, regardless of which career path you choose. I guarantee that video will play a role in your future endeavors, and I'll ensure you're well-prepared for it.

In addition to my media arts classes, I am also the head of the Titan News Team. Here, we produce weekly news shows. If you're interested in becoming a newscaster or working behind the scenes, capturing and editing footage, this is the place to be.

Furthermore, I lead the Titan Production Team. This team is open to all students who have a desire to learn how to film live events such as sports, drama, dance, and other school activities. We also have opportunities to film events in the city, such as PTSA events and more.

Last but certainly not least, I am the proud head of the Titan Esports Team! Our team competes in various exciting games like League of Legends, Valorant, and Overwatch, among others. If you're a gamer, joining the Esports team is an absolute must. In my first year as head coach, we brought home the California State Championship in League of Legends! Who knows, your participation might just help us secure the next big victory.
