President

Rediet Retta - Class of 2021

From my shy and timid freshman self to the person I am today, I have learned to be confident and conquer my fears. Despite my initial hesitation with public speaking. I was determined to progress and allow this obstacle to allow me to become a better speaker. Speech and debate has offered me the space to have my voice heard.

Lucas Chen - Class of 2022

My best memory in Speech and Debate would most definitely be the Fall Varsity tournament in my freshman year. While we were waiting for breaks to come out, my captain Aston Yong, my friend Aaron Fong, and the rest of the Lim. Prep team played tag. It was a really fun night.

Speech and debate is important to me because it gives me the tools to use my voice to talk about the deeper meanings of everyday concepts and spread awareness about those subjects. I love the thrill of giving my speech in front of my competitors and it's also really fun!

Speech and debate is very important to me because it teaches me to overcome any self doubts and insecurities I have from the moment I walk in the front of the class to present. The tournaments are so much fun, especially because I get to meet all sorts of people who have a passion in the same event that I do.
