Titan Wellness Center Practicum Experience
Titan Wellness Center is a school-based mental health program for San Marino Unified S.D. Trainees will have the opportunity to assess, diagnosis and develop treatment plans to address client symptoms and behaviors. Trainees will have a variety of clients ranging in age from 5 - 18yrs. Trainees will be able to provide family therapy in addition to groups if they have an interest. Clients are experiencing a range of problems from depression, anxiety and/or trauma exposure. Trainees will be able to gain a significant number of clinical hours and will exceed the university requirement for practicum completion.
Why do your placement at Titan Wellness Center?
- Children and family hours are the hardest to get to fulfill the licensing requirement. All of the hours you will gain during our experience will count towards your 500 required children, family, couples hours.
- Great hours to work! We see clients during regular school hours 8:30 – 3:30 pm Monday-Friday. You do have the option to meet with client’s after school hours but that is up to you.
- Great time off! We have one week at Thanksgiving, 2 weeks at winter break, 1 week for a midwinter break and 1 week for spring break. You will need and appreciate the time off and it will not impact acquiring your hours.
- We have excellent attendance which means your clients will generally not miss any appointments.
- You will complete a full assessment, learn and diagnose your clients and develop a treatment plan without the pressure of billing. We use MyBestPractice for our documentation.
- Although we are a school setting this is a 100% clinical placement and you will not be doing anything academic related.
- Finally, you are in good company. Our program has at least 6 trainees on staff each year so you will have plenty of peer support and it makes group supervision so much fun!
