Physical activity and exercise can have immediate and long-term health benefits. Most importantly, regular activity can improve your quality of life by helping control your weight, combatting health conditions and diseases, improving your mood, promoting better sleep, and reducing stress. Being physically active consists of a broad variety of activities. You can play sports, dance, go on a hike, go for a run/walk, exercise with or without weights, enjoy a bike ride, or ease the body and mind with yoga. The possibilities are endless! My goal as a Physical Education teacher is to introduce a variety of different physical activities so that students can find something they enjoy to stay physically active and achieve lifelong wellness and fitness. Along with staying active, students will learn how to body works in relation to physical activity to maximize their knowledge of the body giving them the tools to prioritize their physical and mental health.
