SAVE OUR SCHOOLS CAMPAIGN
Our District is facing a potential $2.3 million in cuts due to the State Budget crisis. So far, $1 million of cost savings have been made. But there remains a projected $1.3 million gap. If these cuts must be made, they will impact the staffing and program offerings at every school in the District. Most importantly, these cuts could translate into a 35% increase in class sizes.
In response the San Marino Schools Foundation has launched a Save Our Schools campaign asking for a minimum donation of $800 to raise the $1.3 million by June 1st. Please visit www.smsf.org to donate now, with your support we can achieve this goal.

SMHS wins Bravo Award
At a gala event hosted by Club 100 of the LA County Music Center, SMHS was announced as a co-winner of the prestigious Bravo Award, recognizing the top school arts program in the county. The school's vocal and instrumental music, dance, drama, visual arts, media productions, graphic arts, and photography departments impressed the judges with the high quality of their courses and their impact throughout the school. Congratulations to all the students in these programs and the teachers who have guided them. Thanks to the parents, without whom the winning level of excellence would not have been possible. The award is more tangible evidence of the success of the school district's emphasis on the "Three A's"- Academics, Arts, and Athletics. The school shared the award with Colfax Elementary School, of the LAUSD.
