Ms.Shen is a Chinese American dancer and educator born and raised in Los Angeles. This is currently her fourth year as Dance Director at San Marino High School. She has over 23 years of training in classical ballet, contemporary, modern, and jazz dance. She started her training in a small studio called Li's Ballet Studio and joined the school to perform at the World Expo in 2010 and 2011 in Shanghai, China.

After high school, she went on to receive her BFA in Dance Performance from the University of California, Irvine as a William Gillespie scholar. She has worked with renowned professors such as Donald McKayle, Jodie Gates, Tong Wang, Sharon Wray, Saleemah E. Knight, Diane Diefenderfer, Molly Lynch, and Loretta Livingston. She has trained with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, BodyTraffic, and San Francisco Conservatory.
She has over 12 years teaching experience at dance studios including the renowned Steps on Broadway in NYC. Professionally, she has performed with Re:borN Dance Interactive, Mike Esperanza, Craft Dance Series, Peridance Contemporary Dance Company and the Chase Brock Experience in NYC. 

Ms.Shen is certified in Pilates Mat and Apparatus and Barre fitness instructor for over 8 years.
She graduated from the University of LaVerne and received her California single subject Teaching Credential in PE and a Masters of Arts in Teaching with an emphasis in Educational Technology. 

Her passion is empowering students to grow an appreciation for the performing arts and carry life lessons, they've learnt through dance, into the rest of their lives.
