Director of Speech and Debate: Michael Murray

Michael Murray is going into his 13th year of coaching and 21st year in the speech and debate community. Michael is going into his 4th year at San Marino HS. He has attended and coached tournaments, including the CHSSA, TOC, and NSDA Championships. He has coached 2 NSDA National Champions and a variety of students who have placed in the top 15 in events at State Championships. Coach Murray has a BA in Political Science from CSU Long Beach and an MA in Debate and Communications from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

Hannah Koh has spent over 10 years in the speech and debate community. She did INFO, EXT, IMP, PF Debate, DEC, BP Debate through high school and college. Hannah graduated from Fullerton Union HS and has a passion for speech.
Head Debate Coach: Nicoleta Enciu

Nicoletta Enciu has been a part of the speech and debate community for over 8 years. She has spent 2 years competing in high school, 4 years competing in college at CSU Long Beach, and has been coaching for 2 years since then. Nicoletta has experience with all of the events in both speech and debate, but especially loves to debate. In their free time, Nicoletta enjoys playing video games, exploring nature, and getting some good food! Please join us in welcoming our new debate coach!

Michael Williams has been a part of the Speech and Debate community for 10 years. He competed at Pasadena City College from 2016 to 2019, then coached there from 2020 to 2024. Coach Michael competed in Parliamentary debate, Dramatic Interpretation, and Program Oral Interpretation. He also coached debate and is now coaching speech at San Marino High School.

Aiden Dopson is a recent graduate from Willamette University in Salem, OR, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Politics, Policy, Law, and Ethics (PPLE). He competed in debate both nationally and internationally as a member of the Willamette Debate Union, finishing his final semester by placing 2nd at the Yaatly National Championship held in San Luis Obispo.
