PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE

San Marino High School maintains a commitment to preparing students to have the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to be successful and productive people. Students, staff, parents, and the community work together to provide a program that offers the opportunity for students to compete at the highest levels academically and in co-curricular activities in ways that help each student develop his/her full potential. The school board has set forth the goal that our schools will provide a world class education in the “3 A’s” – Academics, the Arts, and Athletics. In the face of extreme financial challenge, parents and the community have rallied to provide the resources necessary to preserve the school’s excellence in these areas. The key ingredient, however, is you, the student. To secure the benefits of your education at SMHS, you will have to commit yourself to taking advantage of what the program offers. Working hard in your studies will help prepare you for college and your adult careers, but getting involved in co-curricular activities is also required to help you develop the interpersonal, leadership, time management, and communication skills necessary for success. Our program is based on a belief in continuous improvement. We look to you to take an active role in sharing ideas and participating in activities that will allow us to become better than ever. As with most things, you will probably get out of your experience at SMHS what you put into it. Plan to commit yourself to making your high school years as productive as possible, and the staff and I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
